Ciabot Berton Barolo 2007

Free Delivery with Orders over £75

Ciabot Berton Barolo 2007 has an ethereal nose that ticks all of the boxes of an archetypal Barolo: scents of tar, roses and spices are all present. The palate is full bodied, elegant and fine with plenty of tannic structure, sufficient to see it age for at least another 3-5 years.

The Ciabot Berton Barolo is made from a blend of grapes grown in the Oberto family’s Roggeri, Rive and Bricco San Biagio vineyards in La Morra. The calcareous clay soils of Roggeri and Rive give rich, structured wines, whereas the sandier soils of Bricco San Biagio supply the more delicate floral aspects of the final blend. Aged for 27 months in 25 hectolitre Slavonian oak casks, this old oak adds little flavour in itself but the oxygenation the wine receives during its time in barrel smooths off any rough edges and allows the blend to harmonise.

From Antonio Galloni writing on
The 2007 Barolo is an attractive wine laced with crushed flowers, spices and sweet red berries, all of which come together nicely on a refined mid-weight frame. The vibrant, silky finish is quite pretty. This delicate, approachable Barolo is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years. 90 Points
