Clementin de Pape Clement - Pessac Leognan 2011

Chateau Pape Clement is one of the best run estates in Bordeaux and the second wine, Clementin de Pape Clement benefits from the same care and attention. It's basically a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in near equal quantities although in occasional vintages a touch of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc may be added. The wine has decent intensity of colour and aromas which have black fruits predominant with some smokey notes above. The tannins are fairly big but in perfect balance with the wine and this terrific offering is perfect for current onsumption but will live on for another decade or so.
