Tab 2This brilliant Pomerol made by Dr. Alain Raynaud for proprietress Helene Garcin is beautifully situated not far from L'Église Clinet. A star in the making since Madame Garcin took control of the estate in 1997, the very impressive 2006 is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc which was aged in oak for 18 months and which should drink deliciously for 15 or more years.
From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
Chocolate, espresso roast, plum, fig, and blackcurrant aromas are followed by a dense, rich, full-bodied Pomerol displaying superb purity, elegance, and noticeable but ripe tannin. There is not an astringent element to be found in this savoury, layered, opulent 2006. It is ideal for drinking over the next 12-15+ years. 02/09. 92 Points
