Château Mazeyres 2018 Pomerol
Chateau Mazeyres 2018 has a dark and deep colour with bright reflections. The aromas start with full on notes of pureed raspberries and blackberries and after opening up in the glass notes of blackcurrant start to emerge. It is very complex and has a softness that is very appealing. In the mouth it is extremely attractive with plenty of full on flavours and great depth too. The aftertaste offers great complexity together with a delightful freshness. This is a very distinguished Pomerol and even though it doesn't attract the fame of some of the more noble Chateaux, it's a joy to drink.

2018 was an hot year. The vineyard was tended by organic methods and the harvest which started on 17th September took just over two weeks. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels 20% of which were new with 35% aged in cement tanks. This is a wine that was overseen by Alain Moueix of Chateau Fonroque fame and a great job has he made of it.
