Domaine de l'Arlot Cote de Nuits Villages Clos du Chapeau 2016
Unusually for this wine, it was made from fruit that was not de-stemmed, a nod back to the days of Jean Pierre de Smet. It has a moderate body that, when we first tasted was all arms and legs everywhere with fruit and tannins. Now it is far more together and the juicy acidity really refreshes that palate. There is however a touch of oak in the finish (50% was used) but we anticipate this will become better integrated over the coming 12 months.
