Coriole Lloyd Reserve Shiraz shows intense red and black fruit; cherry and mulberry, along with rosehip floral notes and sweet spice on the nose. The palate is long, complex and concentrated, but in no way overblown or unbalanced. It shows red cherry and blackcurrant fruit, rosewater, sweet herbal spice and plentiful but supple tannins that intertwine with the oak flavours to build a lovely creamy texture. A graceful wine that will age well and one that is also drinking wonderfully now.

The deep soil has allowed the roots of these old vines to dig down a long way and generally no irrigation is required. The wine was matured in French oak for approximately 18 months and then spent about 12 months in bottle before release. The 2014 vintage was a perfect vintage in McLaren Vale, with great winter and spring rainfall and a long ripening season with no extended periods of heat. The resulting wines are well poised with supple tannin and great concentration.
