Coriole Sangiovese sees one of Mark Lloyd's Italian grape varieties offer a flavour profile far removed from the usual McLaren Vale menu of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. This limpid Sangiovese appeals for its medium body, savoury flavours and taut, grippy tannins. The nose is bright and aromatic – red fruits, cherry, musk and earth. The palate is fresh and approachable showing an upfront softness which leads into a tight, chalky finish. A medium bodied, savoury wine that has fine balance and good length.
