Coriole Shiraz is stylish, complex and tightly focused around a bright acidity. This elegant and exceptionally balanced young Shiraz has a spicy, peppery fragrance of fresh cassis, blackberries, dark plums and vanilla/cedary oak backed by scents of violets, minerals, cola and a gentle meatiness. Its long, sumptuous palate of dark berries, plums, chocolatey oak and firmish, fine tannins builds towards a lingering finish of faintly sour-edged fruit, mint, menthol and roasting pan scrapings. A wine of outstanding value and regional integrity.

Shiraz is the traditional grape of McLaren Vale and this is Coriole's flagship wine. The first Coriole Shiraz was bottled in 1970. Coriole Shiraz is 100% estate grown with the majority of vines approximately 40 years old. The 2012 release is the 43rd consecutive release of Coriole Shiraz and, given its track record, we are confident in saying that it can comfortably mature for another 10-12 years.
