DeMorgenzon DMZ Grenache Noir
DMZ Grenache Noir is grown mainly in weathered granite soils on their estate vineyards which results in a wine of exuberance and youthful vigour. Spice and mulled red fruits dominate the nose with great purity and depth. The palate is soft and appealing with plenty of structure yet a silky finish.

2014 was a difficult year in that the early season rains persisted throughout the spring and early summer. Vigilance was needed to ensure the health of the fruit. However very careful sorting at the harvest resulted in excellent quality. Fermentation was entirely natural with a percentage of whole bunches added to the de-stemmed fruit. A short maceration of just two weeks was given before gentle pressing and maturation for 18 months in both 300 and 500 litre French oak. No fining and a minimal filtration was given at bottling.
