Domaine Alain Chavy Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières 2012

Sold out

Domaine Alain Chavy Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres 2012 is reminiscent of top Chablis, the nose is full of energy and has great purity. Saline, oyster shell notes are complemented by juicy lemon and green apple aromas. Steely, with notes of spice, smoke and a delicious mineral streak, leading to a lemon and stone-inflected finish.

This famous and large premier cru vineyard sits right in the middle of the appellation and, to many, it is the epitome of Puligny-Montrachet. Alain Chavy's parcel of vines is in the centre towards the bottom of the slope where it is slightly warmer, and it produces wines of greater flesh and weight.

From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières has a much more instant nose compared to Alain Chavy's other premiers crus - the Folatières springing from the glass. The palate is crisp and vibrant on the entry with harmonious citrus notes interlaced with white peach and apricot. This is classy and quite sophisticated for the vintage with a long, pleasing tail on the finish. Gorgeous! 12/13. 93 Points
