Domaine De La Coume Du Roy Maury 1979 has a beautiful golden and copper tint. Toasted nuts, caramel and dried fruits fill the nose. There are more dried fruit flavours on the palate, including prune and raisin, along with notes of roasted hazelnuts and a bright acidity so typical of this oxidised style of Maury. Very complex and elegantly sweet, with a vibrant finish that continues to blossom.

After harvesting, the grapes were destemmed and, after three weeks of maceration, were gently pressed in a pneumatic bladder press. Fortification stopped the fermentation, and the wine was matured for 24 months in vats before being transferred into old oak wooden tuns where it remained until it was bottled with a residual sugar level of 82g/l.
