Domaine De La Coume Du Roy Maury has a warm and figgy nose, with a suggestion of creamy nuttiness. A mellow sweetness that is fruity rather than sugary pervades the palate. The gentle creaminess carries through from the nose, as does just a hint of fresh nuts that lies under the languid, jammy, cherry and blackberry fruit. Velvety smooth tannins and a touch of spice enrich and lengthen the finish.

This Domaine De La Coume Du Roy Maury is made from the best parcels of fruit from 20-50 year old Grenache Noir vines, planted in vineyards of black schist soils with a southern and southeastern exposure. Yields were 15 hectolitres per litre.

After harvesting, the grapes were destemmed and, after three weeks of maceration, were gently pressed in a pneumatic bladder press. Fortification stopped the fermentation, and the wine was matured for 10 months in stainless steel vats before being bottled with a residual sugar level of 104g/l.
