Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte 2013

"The excellent 2013 Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte has a more austere, mineral-driven bouquet compared to the domaine's other Chassagne premiers crus, a bouquet that is very precise; dandelion and burdock scents emerging with time. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, lovely salinity and a precise finish that is totally convincing. This represents one of the domaine’s best in 2013 - a Chassagne from the top drawer." 93 Points. Neal Martin, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate.

La Boudriotte is a small premier cru vineyard site of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation in Burgundy. Located just south-east of the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, this gently sloping, east-facing vineyard produces both red wines from Pinot Noir and white wines from Chardonnay. La Boudriotte lies within the grounds of the Morgeot Abbey and it is technically a sub-division of the more-famous Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot premier cru. In fact, it is unusual to find a Chassagne-Montrachet La Boudriotte as the wines are more often labelled with the Morgeot name.
