Domaine Rapet Pere Et Fils Corton Pougets Grand Cru 2008 displays a deep purple colour, with a texture of dark red velvet. Ample on the nose, its bouquet expresses fruity tones of blueberry, redcurrant, kirsch and floral/violet aromas. It then evolves towards notes of undergrowth, gentle spices and liquorice. On the palate, this Corton Pougets is powerful and full-bodied, firmly structured, and rich, needing five to ten years to reach its full potential. Solid and opulent, it is emblematic of the finest red Burgundy, impressively combining sensuality with great complexity.

The Corton hill sits at the confluence of the villages of Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses. Corton is the only red grand cru on the Côte De Beaune. Located at an altitude of between 250 and 300 metres, the vineyard forms an unrivalled amphitheatre with an exceptional southern exposure to trap the sunlight.

Domaine Rapet Père Et Fils aims to make brightly fruited wines with rich, yet integrated tannins - the mark of well ripened grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted at the winery before fermentation and ageing that takes place in oak barrels, of which 20% are new. The grapes and the wine are handled as little as possible to preserve every ounce of their character.
