G.H. Mumm Champagne Cordon Rouge Vintage is luminous golden yellow in colour with fine and persistent bubbles. The nose reveals the beauty and great complexity of this vintage of Mumm, with notes of apples, pears and yellow fruits such as apricots followed by aromas of dried fruit, nuts and freshly baked patisserie. It opens up progressively on the palate and the Pinot Noir has provided weight and structure. The finish is long and linear.

Mumm selected the finest parcels of grapes and vinified and aged each of them separately. Only some ten crus deserved this special treatment: the very best villages of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. Among them was a predominance of Pinot Noir (64%) which marks G.H. Mumm’s house style. Time was needed for this vintage Champagne to reveal the bounty of Mother Nature, and after five years spent ageing on its lees the wine was judged to be ready. A dosage with a very low sugar content of 6g/l brought out the full character of this Champagne without altering its personality. For all these reasons, G.H. Mumm Vintage Champagne is a wine for laying down and it can be kept in a cellar for some ten years.
