Hollick's The Bard Shiraz has a lifted nose of mulberry and blackberry over restrained French oak. Aromas and flavours of dark cherries and plums with a hint of allspice lead into a ripe and juicy palate, filled with dark berry flavours balanced by bright natural acidity.

The Bard range from Hollick celebrates the work of Australia’s best known lyric poet, John Shaw Neilson, who was raised in the cottage on the Hollick Neilson’s Block vineyard. Revered by his peers in the world of literature, Neilson was born in Penola in 1872, and it is thought that much of the imagery in his poetry was conjured up during his childhood experiences in the swampy bushland around Coonawarra.

The fruit was picked at optimum ripeness and carefully handled to retain the flavours achieved in the vineyard. Limestone Coast Shiraz typically yields flavours and aromas of sweet dark fruit with a touch of savoury spice. This wine is no exception and shows all of the typical Hollick elegance in a very food-friendly style.
