Sanserino is a blend of 70% Aglianico and 30% Sangiovese grown in the hills around Avellino some 40/50 kilometers from Naples. In the glass it has an attractive ruby red colour, a nose redolent of violets and cherries which are also found on the palate together with ripe tannins and a fresh and vibrant acidity. This is really at home when you have it with pasta dishes or even a fine roast leg of lamb.
