Malbec "Uvas" - Mi Terruno Winery
An excellent introduction to Argentinian Malbec. The wine has fine red fruit aromas with some herbal notes and on the palate it is well balanced, generously fruited with firm yet silky tannins. Serve it with some red meat and you will appreciate just what a great combination that Malbec and meat can be.

Grown in the alluvial soils of Mendoza's Maipu Valley, this 100% Malbec has benefitted from the dry, continental climate which brings great ripeness to the grapes which were hand-harvested in the last week of March.
When the grapes arrived at the winery, they were de-stemmed and then lightly crushed before a short cold maceration to extract some colour and fruit aromas without heavy tannins. The actual alcoholic fermentation was done in stainless steel tanks where the temperature could be regulated between 25-29 degrees C where the malolactic fermentation also took place. 20% of the wine was then aged in American Oak barrels.
Why we like this wine
With the great rise in popularity of Argentinian Malbec, many producers have permitted their vines to over produce in search of volume rather than quality. None of that with Mi Terruno who give incredible attention to detail, limit yields to ensure finest quality grapes and then vinify so that the full expression of the terroir always remains foremost in the wine.
- Full expression of Maipu Malbec
- Ripe and fruity making it an ideal partner to red meats
