From the vineyard just outside the front door of the Moccagatta winery, this is an incredible Barbaresco. The blue marl soil with calcareous grit is ideally suited to the mature Nebbiolo vines (ranging from 28 to 56 years of age) and they are producing superb quality fruit.

From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
Fresh but subdued on the nose. Lively, juicy and nicely balanced, with harmonious acidity framing the wine's red fruit and medicinal flavours. Very good depth and length here, with the tannins nicely supporting the wine's finishing fruit. Structured, serious and penetrating Barbaresco with personality. This is the estate's flagship wine. 92+ Points, 11/11

From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 93 Points
