The parcels of wine in the Mollydooker Maitre D' Cabernet Sauvignon come from McLaren Vale grapes grown on the ancient, red soils of Mollydooker's Coppermine Road block and from the deep, dark soils of its Long Gully Road block. The fruit of these vineyards gives richness and substance, and it was blended with 10% of exquisitely fragranced Cabernet from Darren and Belinda Joppich’s block in Langhorne Creek. It was barrel fermented and matured in 80% American oak and 20% French oak; 38% of the wood was new and the balance was one year old.
