Pastourelle de Clerc Milon - Pauillac 2009

£47.75

Another wonderful wine from the Rothschild stable, this is the second wine of Chateau Clerc Milon and it benefits from the same care and attention as the main wine. This year was the first time the wine was produced and with it being a glorious vintage for Bordeaux, it was a superb time to start. It's Cabernet Sauvignon dominated with a decent dollop of Merlot and touches of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Carmenere so you can bet that it will become quite comlex with ageing. It's an elegant wine with plenty of black fruit aromas and flavours such as blackcurrant and cherry. As well as the ripe fruit flavours, there are also hints of pepper and some pencil shavings. The finish is full, long and fine with some chocolate notes too.
