Weingut Künstler Riesling Feinherb

Weingut Kunstler Riesling Feinherb is straw yellow in colour, and offers ripe, yellow-fleshed tropical fruit aromas on the nose along with a typical, subtle spiciness from the clay and loess soils of the Hochheim vineyards. On the palate this is a lovely sappy, fruity, full-flavoured and stimulating, salty and piquant wine with just 11.5% of alcohol. The delicious green apple nuances are balanced by crisp acidity and just a hint of sweetness. It tastes absolutely delicious, does not cost a fortune and has a lingering minerality on its delectable finish.

Even in Hochheim, the spring of 2013 was cool and the onset of the flowering period was relatively late. The warm vineyards of Hochheim did, however, benefit from an early start to the ripening season. There were no problems during the flowering period as it stayed warm and the flower clusters were able to grow into grapes with little loss.

As every year, the less than perfect grapes were removed in the vineyards so that the harvested grapes were one hundred percent healthy. By picking the grapes by hand and using strict selection criteria, 2013 ended up being a very good vintage for the Weingut Künstler Riesling Feinherb, giving a full-bodied wine underpinned by a delicate acidity.
