The rising cost of wine.

So far this year, we have seen some big problems in getting wine from Europe thanks to short harvests, difficulty in obtaining glass and labels and then extended shipping times. It’s not been an easy start to the year and with frosts threatened for last weekend, it remains to be seen just how the various vineyards have been affected.

One thing is for sure, if you are looking for high quality wine, it will almost certainly be in short supply over the coming year so with funds available, this is an excellent time to put yourself a good stock together to keep you liquid.

At present the wines of the southern hemisphere have been affected by shipping – the cost has risen tremendously and continues to do so. Only recently we have been trying to ship a container from Argentina and we were given the option last week of taking a container immediately at the cost of an extra £800 or waiting for some time to see if something else became available. In terms of cost that relates to an extra 6p per bottle!

So here’s a little offer from our Argentine friends giving you an extra 15% discount on all of the Mi Terruno wines. Be aware that the stocks of the Petit Verdot are really quite low and this is a must drink for people who enjoy a red wine with power and refinement, so it’s first-come, first-served.
