Astoria Corderie Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene Extra Dry
Astoria Corderie Prosecco Di Valdobbiadene Extra Dry is quite simply a stunning Prosecco and not surprisingly it's our top selling wine on this website. Beautifully perfumed with intense aromas of ripe, green fruit like melon, lime and citrus. Really well balanced, delicious and just the thing to get the juices flowing!

Produced solely from grapes grown on the Astoria estate in Valdobbiadene, this is a high quality and stylish Prosecco with elegant, ripe fruit flavours balanced by a clean acidity that refreshes the palate. Since the elevation of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco zone to DOCG status some years ago, yields per vine were lowered, and thus the cost of Prosecco went up. This wine more than justifies its slightly higher price and it is certainly one of the finest Proseccos available in our opinion.
Why we like this wine
Top quality fizz for just about anyone. With the demand for Prosecco rising every year and thus the prices with demand, we want to offer the very best while still retaining an affordable price tag. This, in our opinion epitomises exactly what Prosecco should be yet it remains with a ticket price much lower than Champagne and many other sparkling wines.
- Fine fruit and a perfect balance with acidity
- Elegant and refined on the palate
- Enjoyable for almost any palate
- Good by itself or with food
- Very stylish presentation
About the grower
Brothers Paolo and Giorgio Polegato, members of the same winemaking family behind Antonini Ceresa Vini, set up Astoria Vini in 1987. Astoria wines are mainly produced from grapes grown on its own 40 acre Tenuta Val De Brun estate in Refrontolo, right in the heart of the DOCG Conegliano-Valdobbiadene zone. As you would expect from such a location the excellence of Astoria Vini Prosecco is a given. What you might not expect is the range and the quality of the still wines produced by Astoria Vini, from light, fresh, unoaked whites to substantial, ageworthy, barrique-aged reds and dried grape, Passito dessert wines - all of which are very stylishly packaged.
Awards for the Astoria Vini range of wines are numerous and it is seldom a year that goes by at Vinitaly, Italy's major wine fair, that the Polegato brothers are not rewarded in some form. In addition to the high quality of their wines they consistently offer exceptionally stylish packaging, helping the Astoria Vini to wines stand out in any situation. Great value, great looking and great quality.
