September sees the start of the mussel season. When there is a 'R' in the month mussels are at their best and we have the perfect recipe and wine pairing for you to use over the mussel season.

More often than not, it is a white wine that will make a perfect match with cheese.

With the start of the game shooting season it’s time to select from an array of red wines to match perfectly with your game dishes.

Hailstorms have been ever present in the Piemonte summers with the cold air from the Alps hitting the warmer air from the Ligurian coast and thus great balls of ice get deposited on the Barolo vineyards.

A very big thank you to the Eberle Wine Circle for having me last night. It was a treat to look round The Artists' Club and I had a great time talking to them about the wines of Mâconnais and Beaujolais.

The Languedoc is now firmly established as one of France’s foremost quality wine-producing regions, a major turnaround in its fortunes after spending so many years on the other side of the coin as the biggest contributor to the much-maligned European wine lake. A recent visit to Château Canet in the Minervois and to Domaine de La Coume du Roy in Maury reinforced just how good the wines of this region can be.

The sun is out and, if you’re anything like me, so too is your barbecue. We all know that you can cook (almost) anything over charcoal and it will taste amazing, but rather than sticking with the usual burgers and bangers we thought we’d give you some easy and delicious recipes to try. We’ve even paired them with a selection of unmissable and barbecue-friendly wines that are perfect for any al fresco gathering.

Last week we were delighted to welcome Nicolas Bureau, Export Director for Glenelly Estate, to 63 Degrees in Manchester where he very kindly presented a selection of his wines over dinner.

Having just returned from a flying visit to the Veneto, it’s a great time to update you on the latest handiwork of our friends at Astoria Vini, in Prosecco, and at Corte Adami, in Soave and Valpolicella. You’ll be pleased to know that at both estates their newest vintages and their newest wines were all brilliant!
